Bastille District

Thursday June 6
Our hotel is in the Bastille district of Paris. It is where locals live and work and shop. Not too touristy, that's why we like it. Yet, we are just a block from the Metro, and a few stops from the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, and most of the other must see places. Each Thursday there is an outdoor market in the Bastille district. It is several blocks long and you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and poultry, clothing, baked goods, flowers, crepes (my favorite food) and a lot more. Here are pictures of the neighborhood near our hotel. I am sitting in an outdoor cafe sipping white wine. I love Paris!
