We arrived in Cobh Ireland yesterday for our 3 month stay. We flew non-stop from Atlanta to Dublin then took the train to Cobh via Cork. Flat is nice, 3 bedrooms and 2 baths on 3 levels. Weather is cool but sunny. I roasted a chicken and potatoes in the oven after figuring out how the oven turned on.

We took the train to Cork and went shopping. There was a big mall there similar to ones in the US. Bought a prepaid phone to use locally as my iPhone doesn't work here. Our flat is right next to a pub and we could hear a band playing 60's music until one in the morning.
Saturday April 6
The town of Cobh was quite festive today. From our flat we could hear musicians playing Irish music and the streets were bustling with shoppers and sightseers.
Sunday April 7
Very cold and windy today. There are whitecaps on the sea. Good day to stay inside and watch movies. We have satellite TV and lots of movie and news channels.
Monday April 8
I am on my way to Cork to do some shopping. David stayed in the flat. He likes to sit by the window and watch the ships and people. I am having withdrawal from reality shows. It's not too bad. Revenge is on here but they are about 6 shows behind so eventually I will see them all.

It is very windy here today, but warm. I walked up to St. Colman's Cathedral Catholic Church up on the hill and the wind gusts were so strong I had to hang on to the railings to not get blown over.

Went into Cork and took the hop on/hop off double decker tour bus. Cork is a great place for shopping and dining, but not too much for sightseeing. Pretty much saw the entire city in an hour.

The sea, she is angry
The sea, she is angry...funny!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots. I love an angry sea.
ReplyDeleteBeing that you are in England 'One if by land, two if by sea' seems apt. In this instance, two lit lanterns.
