Kinsale

Thursday May 2
We took a Paddywagon day tour to Kinsale and Blarney.  Kinsale, originally a medieval fishing port, is located on the southwest coast of Ireland.  In 1915 the Lusitania was sunk off Kinsale's coast on it's way from New York to Liverpool.
Blarney Castle was built nearly six hundred years ago.  It has beautiful grounds with rippling streams, green pastures, walking bridges, and colorful gardens.  The Tower's passageways are dark and narrow, the steps steep and winding, and lead up to the Blarney Stone, the legendary Stone of Eloquence.
