Friday May 31

Today we went to the Dingle Peninsula via Killarney, stopping at Inch Beach, Beehive Huts, Slea Head, and Clogherhead. Inch Beach is one of Ireland's best surfing beaches and is where Ryan's Daughter was filmed. Overlooking Dingle Bay and the Atlantic Ocean are the Beehive Huts, dating back thousands of years. They are unmortared circular walled huts shaped like beehives. Slea Head and Clogherhead offer wonderful views of the uninhabited Blasket Islands and the Atlantic Ocean. The film Far and Away was filmed in Clogherhead. Dingle is a fishing port and the most western town in Europe.

Wednesday May 29
Two cruise ships sailed into Cobh harbor today. This is one of the warmest days so far since we've been here. It stays light until after 10 pm.

Jameson Irish Whiskey Distillery in Midleton

Tuesday May 28

Today we visited Midleton, about 30 minutes north of Cobh. We took a tour of the Jameson Irish Whiskey Distillery, which included a tasting room.

Sunday May 26

We are back in Ireland. The Caribbean Princess cruise ship sailed into the harbor this morning, so the town is a-jumping. Kennedy Park is set up with kiddie rides, food vendors, music, and merchant booths.

Tuesday May 21

Estoril and Cascais are coastal communities about 2 hours from Lisbon. On the Atlantic Ocean, there are beaches, sand dunes, condos, hotels, and shopping. Very touristy, but beautiful.
